Bruce Somers

Mr. Somers joined ROI as a founding partner in December of 2005 after 31 years in production operations, operations management and senior management positions with service contractors and major oil operators in the North Sea, South Africa, Australia and the Far East. Bruce began his career with Shell's tanker group in 1974 before taking up production operations management positions with Sun Oil, PGS and Midland and Scottish in the North Sea and Soekor in South Africa. He was responsible for BHP's offshore FPSO operations in Australia and the deployment of the FPSO at the Woollybutt field in Australia for Vanguard. Prior to joining Rubicon, Bruce managed the conversion of the FPSO for Santos' Mutineer Exeter field and was the FPSO team leader for Woodside's Vincent field in Australia.
